This Sunday I had the most wonderful afternoon.

Brenda had arranged a practice gathering to celebrate my retirement. All the staff contributed to an afternoon buffet and leaving present for me.

I was also presented with an amazing book, a gift from Brenda, containing the pages that you had all thoughtfully filled in. She had it beautifully bound. It will  take me a long time to read it all. Already I am deeply touched by all your kind words, anecdotes and memories of things I should never have said! I find it difficult to say how much I am touched by all your kind thoughts. I have received many special cards and gifts and have also been presented with a cheque from donations many of you made. Your generosity has completely overwhelmed me and to say thank you seems woefully inadequate but I mean it most sincerely.

I have many happy memories of the past 27 years and inevitably some sad ones. It is now time for me to move on. I am sure Dr Skinner will enjoy working at the Old Parsonage Surgery as much as I have and will help take the surgery forward for the village.
